Confusing navigation is something most website owners don’t notice — because they already know where everything is. Your visitors don’t.
When someone lands on your site for the first time, they’re asking a few simple questions right away: What do you do? What does it cost? What do I do next? If those answers aren’t easy to find, most people won’t go looking. They’ll just go.
Here are five questions worth asking about your site this week:
1. Is your most important action visible without scrolling?
2. Can a first-time visitor find your pricing or services in under 10 seconds?
3. Does your main menu have more than 5 or 6 items?
4. Are you using terms your customers might not actually know?
5. Does every page have one clear next step?
